It's hard being a travel nurse and just watch nurses leave the field forever. From nurses in Alaska all the way across the country in New York, i see a lot of similar "opportunities" not being address. Also, shout out that MD/DO are facing similar shortages in hospitals. I feel like this Nurse Kendra talks about most of the known issues. But also, high turnover in the nurse management role is also a contributing factor that I haven't heard anyone diagnosis.

But it’s always doctors from the UK. they’re (doctors) not quitting as often in the US. They’re simply not being paid enough in the UK.

My moment of realization was when all my highschool girlfriends were married and pregnant, while I was dealing with covid pandemics and postcovid PTSD. I could afford a place to live only by chance when government was paying extra for working in covid units. When I stopped working 250hrs/month and without gov bonuses, I could barely afford mortgage and payments. Litigation was an additional problem. I realized I can loose everything every moment, law in Poland is only worsening for doctors. All this while, thanks to inflation and costs of living, I can't afford a new car anymore. Money is ok but it's not enough to hold someone's life in my hands. Medicine is totally overhyped.

I’m an older student, just turned 40, not in med school but doing pre-PA, I had a teacher that told me about how he went to med school 3* different times!!! It was an inspiration! He failed out the first time, then he went back to try again, and for anyone to admit they failed was so admirable, and to know he went back again was even more so, but then he said when he went back in the 70’s, as he was taking a test, police came in and arrested him because they had confused him for a suspect that had committed a crime at that time (prior to all of the technology we have today of course). He eventually got out of that, they found the right person and he was able to go back again!!!!! I thought holy moly here I am feeling bad because I might’ve done bad in a couple courses that I can repeat while he’s repeated Programs! It’s nice to hear that no one is absolutely perfect. I work in the medical field as a medical assistant and it’s NEVER talked about. And I work closely with residents on the daily.

There is, and I include myself in this, a significant number of well-prepared IMGs who have passed the USMLE steps and are eager to enter the system, including many with specialties (like me) and experience, ready to be retrained. However, there seems to be very little interest from the medical boards in offering more positions.

I'm shocked that the exclusively governtment-run NHS doesn't respect it's physicians. You mean if we socialize medicine, the government is going to cut our pay and working conditions so it can save money?

Tbh. I've realized becoming a doctor was my biggest mistake ever.

I just don’t want someone who isn’t in practising as a nurse or a doctor to talk to me about the nursing or doctor’s work. I mean if a doctor ain’t practicing - what kind of doctor he/she is ? Well - 0

I took this drug once a week. It made me so very sick for 3 days. Then I would still be sick for 2 days but not as ill feeling. Finally on day 6 after the shot, I was so very weak from not eating that I mostly slept. Day 7 time for my weekly dose and start the cycle over. I tried for 2 months. Thinking maybe the ill feeling would ease up over time. Yes, I lost weight and this drug was killing me. I will never touch this drug again and have warned ⚠️ family and friends.

The problem is this; HOSPITAL CEOS AND LEADERS HAVE GOTTEN SO GREEDY IN THE USA THAT THEY SHORT STAFF EVERYONE AND RISK PATIENT SAFETY SO THAT THEY CAN LINE THEIR POCKETS WITH MORE MONEY, AND ENJOY THEIR THREE OR FOUR VACATION HOMES!! Look at the CEO pay and leadership pay at your local hospital and you will understand!

My brain surgeon talked about this to me. He was just finishing his residency and he was talking about if it was worth it. I was talking about I had missed my chance of becoming a Doctor because of being bipolar so he felt comfortable sharing it with me.

Being a doctor is like standing in a room where everyone is on fire including yourself...but you are also the firefighter and everyone is yelling HELP. Mind you, you are expected to put out the fires on very little sleep, make no mistakes and also ignore yourself.

This is unfortunate that the system of training is still perpetuating the same things that I came across in 2016. It is going to be good to bring forth the platform that will improve our healthcare training system

He's right because he's talked to people for decades who went to medical school, for any number of reasons it didn't work out, and then they have the 400k-600k of debt while working only 30k-40k a year in a different industry. People sometimes do that want to put effort in there health. “Doctor I know I can workout and eat healthy, but just give me the pills.” Some people just don’t put the effort in themselves and some people do. For Dr. Goobie neurosurgeon was not his thing because for others it is for example Dr. Q it is everything. Look up Dr. Alfredo Quiroz Hinojosa known for Dr. Q, he too is a neurosurgeon and his view is different.

In my experience as a patient, MDs have been more arrogant and don't listen to the patients as well as the DOs I have seen. I will take a DO over an MD in a heartbeat. MDs seem to forget that we live in our bodies. They are just walking by and glancing through the metaphorical windows. We usually know ourselves. If we say something is wrong, don't be dismissive. I've seen plenty of MDs with the "your google search isnt better than my degree" nonsense. With the DOs I have encountered they take the time to listen. Just my 2 cents though and maybe my antidocdotal knowledge doesn't apply to everyone, but it is my experience.
